Hoori and the divine sword
Hoori is a hot spring sightseeing spot located in the mountains. Although the railroad was not yet accessible, the town preserved its unique culture. The local divine sword Murasamemaru was stuck in the rock, and no one could pull it out; Uchi Jōomi accidentally broke the sword and was thus required to take responsibility for marrying the shrine maiden.
Shrine maidens, guards, and administrators
Yoshino Asatake is the shrine maiden princess of Hoori Kenzane Shrine, and Mako Hitachi is trained as a shrine maiden bodyguard. Murasame's Divine Blade, Murasame-maru, is a soul-like existence that has existed for hundreds of years, invisible to ordinary people. Lena Lichtenauer, an international student, approaches small-town life with a straightforward and optimistic attitude.
The curse and the beginning of the engagement
Jiang Chen faces not only the consequences of breaking his blade, but also a strange fiancé, a mysterious girl only he can touch, and a curse on this land.
PC flowcharts and voice controls
The PC version uses flowcharts to present branches. Version 1.10 added a playlist for collecting voice messages; Version 1.11 adjusted the operation to jump from the route branch icon at the end of the General Section to each page, and allowed clicking text to replay voice in the backlog record. Version 1.12 allows system voice settings item by item.
International PC and Switch versions announced
The 2020 international PC version allows switching between Chinese Simplified, Traditional Chinese, English, and Japanese in the title menu, supports cloud saves, controllers, and 26 Steam achievements. On April 28, 2022, Switch announced that the console version would be available for all ages and download-only software, published by NekoNyanSoft, with a release schedule for May 26.
Theme songs and character songs
The opening theme is 'Koihi Koifuen' performed by KOTOKO. Yoshino, Mako, and Murasame routes each have ending songs, and four separately released character song CDs correspond to Yoshino, Mako, Murasame, and Rena. The original soundtrack CD contains the full length of the opening theme and six ending songs.
Division of production for the original PC
Ritsu Amamiya was responsible for the planning and wrote the script together with Fujita and Jun Seo. Character design and original artwork: Kobuichi, Muririn Wasenro, SD by Haruka Yukomowata; Senro was also included in the CG cast, while Rodo was responsible for the film and related work.
Branches and unreached points in the flowchart
Players can directly select branches on the flowchart. After enabling the corresponding settings in "Game Process 1," the map will also show the unreached location, making it easier to view the remaining content. Famishin explained that this feature was added for the first time to Yuzu Studio's work in response to player survey requests.
From the collection voice playback scene
Collect the voice and graphically indicate the speaker. After enabling "Scene Recall," select the saved lines to replay the corresponding scene; During playback, you cannot save or read save files; after reaching the end of the scene, return to the favorites interface.
Keyboard shortcuts
Keyboard settings allow for reassigning shortcuts: select the function first, then click a key from the available key list, or directly press the key you want to assign. The developer used assigning "Enter Next Scene" to the J key as an example.
Song collaboration recorded with shamisen
Famishin appreciated KOTOKO's wording and invited her to write lyrics and perform the opening song simultaneously. The intro shamisen in the character song commercial uses input sounds, and the opening video showcases Hideki Onoe's actual performance for the first time.
Instruments and soundtrack production beyond the opening
The shamisen on the tail is also used as the game's background music. In a production review, Famishin explained that Satoshi Inohara was responsible for more than half of the BGM production for this work.
The music in the opening video is also well matched
The opening video for 'Senren*Manka' in 2016 was produced by Rodo, with SD illustrations presented in conjunction with 'Koihi Koifu En'. In the development retrospective, Famishin used Rena's illustrations as an example to introduce the combination of the opening music and visuals.
The original song's 2026 live arrangement
The original opening theme song "Koihi Lovefuen" was rearranged on the SongFes2026 LF stage; KOTOKO also performed this song at the Tachikawa concert.
This chapter: The fate of Iyo after completion
The retainers and shrine companions exorcise the evil gods, collect fragments, complete the ritual, and enshrine them. After the curse in the Common Arc is resolved, he must decide whether to continue staying with the Chotake family; The Koharu and Luhua branches have left home to work at Tanshinya.
The Yoyo incident in the Mako and Rena route
In Moko's storyline, the Beast of Yoiro possesses her. Moko, at her request, faces love and talks with it in her dreams. Rena's route unfolds from the common final battle: Rena gets involved in the battle, absorbs Yoriyo, and is saved by Masaomi. In some arcs, she doesn't have to choose whether to leave Hoori.
Moko Line・Protecting the child
In Moko's route, while resolving the Beast's Curse, Moko protects her child and narrowly escapes being hit by a car.
Murasame Line, training, Muraka activities, and divine swords
On the Murasame Line, Masaomi and Murasame were the first to take action on village revitalization activities.
At the end of the Murasame route, during the dedication, Matsuomi and Murasame bid farewell to Murasamemaru, the divine sword responds, and then it reverts to a regular divine sword.
Original PC patch image and playback adjustments
On July 28, 2016, version 1.10 added window menu layout, chapter display times, and shortcut key content prompts. On August 10, version 1.11 added differential numbers and button auto-hide in CG appreciation, fixed the display of Mozi's end credits and some SD animations; On September 30, version 1.12 further addressed video playback errors and adjusted default memory allocation parameters for images.
The original PC's Full HD memory limit
According to the official support page, Full HD images are relatively large, and during long playthroughs, memory fragmentation may prevent loading space, and HD mode may encounter similar issues. For environments where image memory runs out repeatedly and restarts after 1.11, the support page proposes changing "image memory allocation method / heap split initial value" to automatic expansion.
PC Guide: Epilogue and Appreciation Now Open
Chaotic Notes PC guide explains that after reading the epilogue of any character, the title screen will add AFTER and EXTRA modes; After that, for each new character's epilogue, the AFTER and EXTRA data for that character is added. After reading all the heroines' epilogues, the character art appreciation feature in EXTRA is unlocked, so you don't need to collect all CGs first.
