"Kasumi Gaicage Stay" is raiL-soft's first visual novel, released on July 25, 2008. A young man who has lost his memories is taken by ferry to a river inn, living among the residents and facing the choice of whether to return to his original place.

An inn in the river
When the young man woke up, he was already on a boat on the great river. Watashi-no-mori, wearing a mask, says he wants to take him back to his original place, but he only remembers wanting to leave "this place." The ship arrives at a massive wooden building on the continent, where rooms, streets, and waterways intersect, forming a small world beyond the scale of an ordinary inn.
Lingering and departing
The young man befriends the caretaker's daughter, the librarian who lives alone in the old library, and the pipa priest who often visits the greenhouse. As his life gradually stabilized, he became increasingly reluctant to leave; At this moment, Wataru Shishu recalled his memories and once again raised the issue of staying or returning.
The person in the inn
Your daughter is wary of those who might use her, yet she hasn't lost her gentleness; The librarian was shunned by others due to rumors of cannibalism, but in reality, he was a knowledgeable scholar. The pipa master is usually gentle and especially persistent when pursuing music. Helpers who look alike take on miscellaneous tasks, and the number of people varies depending on the busyness.
Voice acting and production
Nozomi was responsible for planning the original concept and script, while Meibii handled the key animation and character design. The young lady, librarian, biwa priest, ferry guard, and attendants are voiced respectively by Rumi Amamizu, Ryo Kasumi, Mizuki Aihara, Kaori, and Junko Kusayanagi; The sound production credited to Rock'nBanana.
Reading system
The game is progressed through ADV segments and options, without a separate simulation management section. The V-R system can adjust the text display range, font size, portrait position, text window, and the brightness of read text. Subsequent errata corrections on the official website clarified: Zhuyin is set according to font size and only displays under large fonts.
Songs and soundtrack
The theme song "Kasumi Kagerou" was performed and written by Rita, with composition and arrangement by Shinichiro Matsumoto. The BGM was produced by Blueberry & Yogurt and Mats Music Studio. The official music retrospective also specifies that 'Guide' corresponds to Watarimaru, 'Dark Guide, Soft Demon' to the librarian, and 'Peacock Dance for Young Ladies' to the noble lady.
Original edition published
The demo version was released on June 13, 2008, production was announced on July 11, and it was released on July 25. The original version was released on Windows in DVD-ROM format.
